Description: Measures 5 13/16th inches in length, wt = 25 grms. Founded in 1824, as a Methodist Seminary, Cazenovia has undergone many changes in name and mission in its nearly 200 year history. The name Cazenovia Seminary was officially adopted in 1894, but online sources indicate this was the 'unofficial' name for the school for a much longer time period. The spoon is on Reed & Bartons Luxemburg blank which was introduced in 1908. The building depicted here was the collages primary structure which began as the Madison Co. courthouse and grew by addition afterward. The towered building on the right was known as the Bookstore, and I believe the building to its left is the original courthouse. The structure depicted here was destroyed by a fire in 1959.
