Yes, it's a classic set of cards in size and composition of four suits -- hearts, diamonds, spades and clubs -- deuces through aces, 13 cards per suit plus two jokers. But the comparison ends there. You'll have a hard time playing a quick game of poker with this deck. Here's why:The front of every single card is different, a rich magnificent medieval/Renaissance painting in a 2-3/4" x 4" cardstock format. You'll get lost in every scene.No numbers. You have to painstakingly count the number of hearts, diamonds, clubs, or spades on the card, and they won't be in the same place every time, e.g. the four hearts won't be in the same place as the four diamonds. (The replacement is called "transformation", as I've been informed.)Handle with care! These aren't waxy gloss cards; these are matte masterpieces. No card tricks, no sweaty palms, no fast deals.Made in Italy for Cavallini & Co. The quality of Italian printing coupled with the imagination and quality that Cavallini of San Francisco demands.I don't know if the deck was sealed originally; it was among my late sister's items.
