FROM THE DUST JACKET FLAP Cattle Cavalcade in Central Colorado tells the story of the cattle business the way those who have lived here would like to have it told. This volume presents many of the most colorful and moving episodes in an illustrated, many chaptered story. In the beginning the settlers found a land of promise occupied by uncivilized Indians. After many years of conscientious and continuous labor and determination the pioneers were successful in resolving the Indian problems and developing our modem civilization. Among the first settlers were cattlemen. Their livestock was principally of Spanish origin. The first livestock brought into Central Colorado from eastern sections of the United States were referred to as American horses and American cattle. ABOUT THE AUTHOR George C.
