In most cases it's a remastered original image of a WW2 period used printed patch, in this case, a vintage movie prop. A majority of originals were mass produced by printing companies and applied to various materials to include "Leatherette" Raw Canvas, Natural Leather, and various other Impregnated Fabrics.
