The dish is hallmarked from Birmingham in 1940 with the makers mark being that of Lanson Ltd, the spreader hallmarked Sheffield 1940 with the makers mark being that of Cooper Brothers & Sons Ltd. This is not a marriage, it was common for one maker to produce one part and another to make the other, Lanson would have made the dish and outsourced the spreader to Cooper Brothers. All in excellent order, no silver damage and glass is perfect, box shows some external staining but overall also in good order. Dish measures 151mm across the handles.
