Description: This is a vintage Case 6380 “Split Backspring Carpenter’s Whittler” pattern pocket knife.The tang stamp is Case XX USA 7 dot 1973.The knife is 3-7/8” closed with nickel silver liners with pinned oval CASE shield.The blade steel is CV (carbon) steel.All blades have strong snap, no wobble.Nice chestnut bovine bone handles. Great color.The handles have no cracks or chips.A mint knife - never sharpened, carried, or cleaned, original factory blade finish and edges. Small clip blade has a few rub marks; one tiny pepper speck on the coping blade.A classic CASE Whittler pattern, popular with both collectors and users.Case discontinued this pattern from standard production in 1978. Included is a scarce vintage Case “pumpkin” box that originally held six of the 6380 pattern.The handles on this knife were crafted from South American Zebu cattle shin bone. Genus/Species - Bos indicus or Bos taurus indicus.
