Description: Introduced exclusively by CASE in the spring of 2002, this is a new 2022 "Seahorse Whittler" three blade folding knife measuring 4" in length when closed. The idea of this knife originated many years ago with the forefathers of Joseph Rodgers & Son in Sheffield, England. Their knife, the Wharncliffe Whittler, was named after an English patron named Lord Wharncliffe. CASE added Seahorse to the name because of the knife's unique Seahorse handle shape. The Wharncliffe blade, crafted from heavy gauge steel, is the master blade and lies alone at one end of the knife - the pocket end. Its flat cutting edge allows for straight cuts during the whittling process. Detail work is accomplished with the adjoining Coping and Pen blades that rest on the opposite cap end of the knife. The knife has beautiful, brass lined and pinned, thick, vintage bone handles, shiny nickel silver bolsters and a nickel silver CASE shield. Stamped on the front tang of the Wharncliffe blade is Case XX with 8 dots dating it as a 2022 issued knife and the reverse tang is pattern stamped USA V6355WH DAM. The Pen blade tang is stamped XX and the Coping blade tang is stamped DAM. The knife's blemish free and attractive Damascus blades are factory edge sharp and have excellent "walk and talk" snap. It will be shipped in a new CASE factory box (not original) with a "Product Quality Information" disclosure form and wrapped in tarnish resistant paper.
