Tapestry may represent the high point of Carole King’s career. After a successful decade as a Brill Building songwriter, she set out in the early 1970s to become a solo artist. Her second album, Tapestry, was both a critical and financial success, and remains one of the top-selling albums of all time. Carole King brought the fledgling singer/songwriter phenomenon to the masses with Tapestry, one of the most successful albums in pop music history. The album was cut at 45 RPM and pressed on four single-sided, 180 Gram discs for optimum sound quality. The first record in the set includes a printed cover; the other three are in plain white jackets. This title was only in print for a short time and was quickly deleted, probably due to contractual issues. This copy is still sealed and is presumed to be mint. The shrink wrap is intact with no tears. This is a great-sounding and very rare pressing of a classic album by a songwriting legend and is one of the harder 45 RPM titles issued by Classic Records to find today.
