C1992 MONTBLANC N°146 SOLITAIRE STERLING 18K OBB NIB FOUNTAIN PEN NEAR MINT

Description: For your consideration, we are offering for sale this absolutely stunning Montblanc No. 146 Solitaire LeGrand MEISTERSTUCK Fountain Pen in the Lined Sterling Silver Overlay (known as Godron pattern) fitted with an 18K Oblique Double Broad nib. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and now is in wonderful writing condition. We can date this Montblanc 146 to circa 1992 to 2000 because this Montblanc has the Germany stamp on the clip, straight grip, single unit barrel construction, brass piston filler, and 18K bi-color nib. The cap clip ring banding is stamped, "Germany, Metal2, and Serial Number HX10033639". This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, dings, or dents with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. This Montblanc has the Sterling Silver Lined overlay and is in excellent shape with no scratching - it has been cleaned and polished. The cap has a gorgeous Gold Filled Clip and Cap Banding displaying no wear. The cap banding is stamped with, "MONTBLANC MIESTERSTUCK". Just above the cap banding, the Montblanc sterling Ag 925 StØD hallmarks are stamped onto the cap. The transparency of the ink-view window is "Water Clear". There are no monograms or personalizations on the cap or barrel. This Montblanc 146 Fountain Pen measures 5 5/8" in length capped and 6 3/8" posted. The filling system was removed, internal components cleaned, and the piston seal was greased. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The Piston Filling System works as it was intended to. The Montblanc NIB is an 18K/750 Bi-Color NIB. The 18K Montblanc NIB likes to write "semi-wet" (not too wet and not too dry but tends to be more on the wet side) and has a double broad point measuring roughly 1.23mm when measured with digital calipers. When creating a writing sample, the NIB writes with a medium to double broad stroke/line. The writing sample provided in the image has the medium stroke measuring at .85mm and the double broad stroke at 1.30mm with medium to firm pressure when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Montblanc Blue Ink. I have to emphasize the nib on this Montblanc 146 writes so smoothly! This Montblanc 146 LeGrand Sterling Fountain Pen comes with all the boxes, International Service Certificate, and International Warranty Card. These Montblanc 146 Sterling Fountain Pens are incredibly difficult to acquire in today's market. I would grade this writing instrument to grade easily in Excellent+ to Near Mint Condition.
