The original Latin edition was published as 'Anatomia Chiurgica' in 1672. Printed for the Editions Medicina Rara LTD.Illustrated with one folding table, and forty-two plates.An important anatomical work, a textbook for surgeons that was the standard reference work of the day by Bernardino Genga.Genga was a scholar of Classica medical texts, known for his editions of Hippocrates' works. He worked at the French Academy in Rome teaching anatomy to the artists.The engravings for this work by Charles Errard were noted for their commentary and anatomical accuracy, many based off the classical statues of figures such as Hercules, viewed from different angles. Undated, dated from WorldCat and Jisc. CONDITION In the publisher's original half morocco binding, with cloth covered boards. Light fading to back strip, and perimeters of cloth, with light spotting to rear board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
