Description: For sale is an antique sterling silver bowl. This was made by the Famed "Kalo Shop", an arts and crafts maker of various types of jewelry and hollowares. This piece is the #01 "Oval Low Bowl", as specified on the Chicago silver site. It measures approx 9" x 5" x 1 1/2" and is around 268 grams. This particular design, at least as far as I can tell, is relatively rare and Terapeak shows that no examples have come up here on eBay in the last 2 years. It has an uncommon "Chicago USA" mark, indicating a dating range of about 1929 - 1932. It's a lovely bowl with a melon type lobing or ribbing with a hammered texture. This is a great example of American arts & crafts silver and would be the centerpiece of any collection!
