Description: This is an amazing find ! A fine looking pair of early 1920's wooden jumping skis. Made by W. F. Tubbs Co. in Norway, Maine, these skis are "The Tubbs Ski", eight footers, 98" long with points on the tips. These were primarily used for ski jumping. Crafted from hickory, they have recently been refinished to showcase the rich patina. Much of the manufacturer's label decals are still intact. They feature the original rubber Tubbs footplates. The bases are clean and have twin grooves. They are shown with an 8' step ladder in the photos for size comparison. These have been well cared for and only show a few of the typical scratches and scrapes found on vintage skis.It is extremely rare to find a pair of long Tubbs from this era in such great condition. These skis are part of a collection from the Woodstock, Vermont estate of a noted champion of the ski industry in New England. This is a beautiful 100 year old set of antique skis
