Description: Lot of 4 Beautiful Glass Plate Negatives c.1890s Apparently from U.K. Subject: Group Portraits Glass Plate Size: 3.25" x 4.25" This lot of 4 glass plate negatives is part of an estate collection that came in various original period plate boxes (such as the box pictured -- which is not included with this sale) labeled "Monmouth" / "Looe" / "Goodwick" / "Wells" Plates, respectively. So, all the photos are from locations in England and Wales.I am listing more glass negatives from this same U.K. estate ... as well as some other lots from the same period that are American. The positive images you see in the listing are computer-generated inversions of these same negative images, just so you can see what is pictured. Condition: All the glass plates in this lot are sound. The quality of exposure and emulsion varies, as usual with a collection of this period. There will be minor small nicks or scratches on the emulsion from 120+ years of storage and handling, but no signs of abuse. Some may have fingerprints around the edge from handling. The above is my good-faith attempt to disclose all noteworthy issues. Keep in mind that vintage/antique items always show their age. (Don't we all!?) It would be impossible to mention every tiny detail, so please expect that there will be something about this item (or lot) that's not perfect and may need touch-up.
