Description: c1880 ANTIQUE BARN FARM SHEEP HERD OIL ON BOARD PAINTING ORNATE GESSO FRAME. Unsigned, circa late 1800s, on Devoe board, part of a label can be seen under the wooden backer. This looks like it was professionally cleaned and touched up with some repairs, not easily see to the naked eye, notably in the upper left of the barn ceiling. It was done very well and I only noticed under direct light. Gesso over wood frame, in very good condition for age with original finish. The frame measures 24"w x 17"h. The painting measures 18 1/2"w x 11 1/2"h. A nice find. Failure to read full description may result in delays and misunderstandings.
