Description: c1869 Canton de Berne, Haslíthal, Switzerland Tinted Photograph Adolphe Braun Co A beautiful, and rare, hand tinted photograph by Adolphe Braun which is part of his series Costumes de Suisse from circa 1869. The Canton of Berne, Haslíthal, Switzerland features an attractive young lady standing beside a pile of logs while holding on to the handle of a wooden bucket. Her free hand is resting on her hip holding the corner of her apron. while wearing a dress and hat typical of the area. The photo card measures approx 8 1/8" x 6 3/8" with the actual image sizing being about 6 1/4" x 4 1/2". I believe the photograph is of French origin and use the albumen silver print technique. Condition: tanning, foxing, spotting and board is wavy from moisture with edge wear.
