Description: Maker: This exceptional antique porcelain shallow bowl - part of a large set that is being sold in separate lots - has no maker's mark. It is almost certainly English and is believed to date to the early 1800s. Many companies of that era produced exquisite fine porcelain for England's elites, much of it unmarked. Competitors' patterns and shapes were often copied, making definitive identification difficult. Very similar shapes and patterns as this set have been attributed to New Hall, Spode, Coalport and Pinxton. But the maker of this set and this bowl remains unidentified. Design: Its beautiful black and white design featuring a stately manor reflects the tastes of the early 19th century. Size: The bowl is 5 3/8 inches wide, 1 1/4 inches tall and weighs 3.6 ounces. Condition: It's in overall excellent condition for its age and fragile material with no nicks, chips, cracks, stains, discoloration or repairs. There is light wear to the edge and many embedded dark spots that were created in the manufacturing process - they're visible in the photos. Other pieces in this pattern are being sold separately. This bowl has been carefully examined for damage but there may be small flaws that are not noted here, so please check all the photos very carefully – they are an important part of the description.
