Description: Presented is a fantastic set of 4 sterling silver spoons. We believe these are American spoons, and they date to around the 1770s-1790s. The spoons have a lovely classical design with downward turned handles. The ends of the handles are nicely engraved with a crest of a rampant lion. The spoons are in great condition. There is some minor surface wear throughout, and two of the spoons have a tiny ding to the bowl, but these are quite hard to notice. There are no splits, no dents, no breaks, no monogram removals, and no repairs. The spoons are guaranteed to be at least 900 purity silver. Each spoon is hallmarked with a maker's mark of 'WW' four times on the stem, possibly for William Bradford Whiting of Connecticut or William Wilson of Maryland. The marks vary in how clear they are because the metal is stamped before the handle is shaped, and the shaping distorts the marks. Each spoon is about 7 1/8 inches long. The total weight for the set of spoons is 155.1 grams or 5.4 regular ounces. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
