Description: C. 1840s original watercolor print titled A View on the Hudson. Unknown artist; painting itself measures approximately 19 x 25” and 24 x 30” in included frame. In fair condition, with staining to painting, primarily the top right-hand corner. General age-related toning to colors, but illustration and details are preserved well. Included in antique wooden frame, which has some loss of paint to front and small chips to the back. Includes a depiction of an early steamboat with a sail, a feature that was generally removed by the mid-1800s. Painting has not been inspected outside of frame. Please review photos and ask any questions. The backing board includes several decades of history to the painting, including repairs done in 1952 and an appraisal done in 1970, which estimated the painting to be worth around $5,000.
