YES (its a good idea)Do I need Any other Additional Parts? Most likely a wire harness and antenna adapter will be also needed.HOW DO I FIND OUT? Easy to find by checking the Search Box in our ebay store by typing in Make Model Year of your Vehicle.HOW DIFFICULT IS IT TO INSTALL?Usually with some patience most installs can be done with simple tools and take approx. 30min to 3hrs(It depends on how many parts of your dash needs to be removed, and if your installing additions like Amp, etc. Dash Kit ( Why its a Good Idea ) Why do I need a Dash Kit? Today's cars have rounded edges, sometimes funky looking convex and curved stereo faces. Dash Kits are designed to match your car radio console. For a Gapless fit with Aftermarket Radios. Many auto makers factory radios are bigger than aftermarket radios (Some will need a Pocket or Delete Plate)(Read Below) **The sole purpose of an install dash kit, is to blend the new aftermarket radio so it looks like it belongs.Professional Install shops use these very same Dash Kits when installing new Aftermarket Car StereosRadio in-dash installation kits are designed, specifically for particular vehicles * EXAMPLE : AFTERMARKET RADIO IS A SINGLE DIN & OEM RADIO WAS LARGER SIZED 2 DIN (DEFINITELY WILL NEED DASH KIT - if wanting to close up the gaps) What is a Single-DIN, 1.5DIN, Double-DIN & Shaft Radio Mean?"Single DIN" = Standard Aftermarket Radio Size "Shaft Style"= Old type of radios w/ Knob Controls1.5 DIN = Mostly Used by GM (in the Late 90's - early 2000's)2 DIN = Many Stock Import Radios - 2xs size of Single DIN (often referred to as a Double Din) Careful of Direct Imports from China & Abroad Unfortunately there are a lot of Cheap Stereos being sold on ebay, that do not fit the AIAA Standards. Many China radio models will not work with this kit: (Stick with Brand Names) just to be on the safe side. Why? Because they make their 7in screens to fit into locations that do not require a fitment dash kit. Not only are they oversized, some have Odd Wiring; and don't follow the 35yr old EIA color code. Don't have detailed info from the Manufacturing Companies who make the vehicles. Companies like Alpine, Clarion, Kenwood, Pioneer (except some *AVIC), JVC all fit; due to industry collaboration. Morotorized flip screens have similar Issues* Please Double Check the size of your aftermarket radio before purchasing this kit. Boss and Eonon radios are notorious for being over-sized, please be cautious when purchasing these radios. There is Not a Dash Kit on the market that will accommodate these oversized Non Branded Radios. In essence, you get what you pay for, and unfortunately it becomes everyones problem on their attempted profit. Double Din kits are design for use with USA Standard Double Din radio models only that are 6.2" 173mm x 99.8mm to 7" 180mm x 102mm (anything over 180mm will need to be trimmed) Its Doesn't Fit Don't Panic... First, make sure you have a named brand Radio. ( as discussed above ) Secondly, there are a few reasons for this lovely and frustrating scenario Please look and read the directions carefully, and then recheck the directions. Some Radios slide in from front, and use the Metal Box, while others are ISO and slide in from back to front. Usually ISO, the box isn't needed, and you'll attach the stereo to the side brackets of the Dash Kit. (We've doing this since the early 80s) - & still sometimes laugh at myself, because I didn't read the directions. Will I need anything else? Maybe; an Aftermarket Radio Wire Harness & Antenna Adapter (to keep FM Radio) As earlier mentioned about Wire Harnesses being incorrectly wired from China... (this is on them) not us.We Stock the same Professional Radio Wire Harnesses and Antenna Adapters, you'd pay for at any install shop.(in-fact) we are installers, we carry what we install and have knowledge of what we sell. To check what type of Radio wire harness you may need, look in our ebay store for your Make Model Year. if it lists parts, then you will need them, if you don't want to cut up your vehicle harness. (for Stereo replacement) usually 3 things are needed. 1) Dash Fitments for Radio 2) Aftermarket Stereo Wire Harness 3) Antenna Adapter Do I need to re-wire things? No Re-wiring is needed, unless you have gotten a non-branded stereo.FAQ: Why do I need a wire harness?
