A resourceful person could make a new wood piece but it works fine the way it is. The enamel has to chips, cracks, or crazing. The cooking area is 3" tall by 5" in diameter and the handle is 5.75" long. It comfortably holds 2 cups. Total weight with the lid is about 2.75 pounds.
