The crock passed our water test being filled for 24 hours and was water tight. Last two pictures show portions of a tight incised line at base, this is a remnant of the manufacturing process. Pictures 16 and 17 show two views of a surface edge chip(3/4" length) at the base, no structural implications, only cosmetic. Picture 3 shows a superficial surface only hairline spider below the left Tulip. Picture 6 shows a superficial surface only hairline at the top center which does not go to top lip, only cosmetic. Picture 8 shows a small surface chip on inner lip. Pictures 9 and 10 show small wear spots to lower inner slip surface. Finally picture 1 shows at the base between the ears and up about 2" from the base surface finish crackling which is shown in more closeup detail in pictures 4,13 and 14, this is cosmetic to the surface. No base defects. We have owned this crock for more than 40 years. If you have any questions please ask. This is a solid, nicely colored and unique crock not being a "Brown Brothers" product.
