Description: British Yellow Shell Pattern Bone China Tea Cup & Saucer Circa 1800-1815 Antique British bone china bute form tea cup and saucer. Decorated in the Yellow Shell pattern produced by numerous factories with hand painted yellow shell, and red, green, and blue seaweed. Red trim along the edge. Unmarked. The shape is pictured in the book A Compendium of British Cups as unidentified. Circa 1800 to 1815. Has fine crazing typical of bone china and some wear consistent with age and use. The cup has a small Y shaped hairline to the base. The saucer has some staining and two small tight cracks extending off the edge. The cup measures approximately 4 inches wide including the handle x 2 3/8 inches tall. The saucer measures approximately 5 1/2 inches wide.
