Description: Up for auction is an amazing old atlas I found at an estate sale, along with several others. This is a Robert Welcke "Final Map Vol. 1" for the Borough of Queens, copyright of 1915 in the front with some maps have updates into the 1920s. So a 10-year range of what this portion of Queens, New York City looked like in the early 20th century. Contains about 75 to 80 maps. The numbered pages go up to 85 but there are some numbers skipped in the back. They don't appear to be torn out so maybe this was put together that way. All the maps are linen-backed so very sturdy. Amazing detail of this portion of Queens, Great piece of history. It's a massive book that weighs more than 30 pounds and measures about 25 by 25 inches. Neat map with a great low opening bid. If you're in the New York area (I'm on Long Island), I'd be willing to meet somewhere within reason for pickup. Otherwise, I believe this can be sent via media mail, which might keep the shipping cost down. Though it's so heavy, it still will cost a decent amount to ship. I've put the numbers in the calculator so that should give you an idea.
