They were manufactured in Italy .The Company was founded in 1950 by three partners; Piccioni, Cantoni, and Marzini. Their aim was to produce glassware for domestic use. that could withstand everyday use. Today Borgonovo glassware is used in homes in over 100 countries. These bowls measure approximately 5 1/2 inches wide and 3 inches tall and are often used as salad bowls. Made of the finest quality glass, these bowls are resistant to not only impact, but repeated dishwasher cleaning. Though I could not find the pattern name, I have seen them described as cabbage designed bowls. To me they appear as beautiful, sprawling trees that have lost their leaves in the fall season. They would be perfect for a small family or for the couple now sharing an empty nest. Very lovely.
