The Chaos Space Marines worship one of the Four Gods of Chaos, Khorne. Khorne is the God of War, Murder, Anger, Hate, and general Bloodshed. Khorne draws power from violence and killing. He sits on a brass throne, atop a mountain of skulls centered in a lake of blood. Whenever his followers spill the blood of his enemies, that blood is added to the lake, and when they are slain, their skulls become part of the skull throne. Thus when a Chaos Space Marine kills someone, they cry “Blood for the Blood God, Skulls for the Skull Throne!” The term has entered into popular culture as a general expression of approval, or something to yell and freak out the squares. Or both. Blood for the Blood God is the seventh studio album by Irish Celtic metal band Cruachan. It was released in 2014 on Trollzorn Records.
