Description: Blessed Chiara "Luce" Badano Single Decade Rosary This is a pretty chaplet for a beautiful and courageous young Christian teen. As a 9 year old she was inspired to join a spiritual renewal movement in the Catholic Church for young people known as the Focolare Movement. At age 16 she was a vivacious, cheerful and active teen who loved hiking, tennis, music and hanging out with her friends, when she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of bone cancer. For 2 years she underwent treatments of surgery, chemotherapy, and pain and suffering, accepting of God's great plan for her life. "If you want it, Jesus, I want it too" was her constant prayer. Chiara is truly a modern saint - she died at age 18 in 1990 and was beatified in 2010. Photos of her show the "Luce" or Light of her countenance which was simply beautiful. Such a great young saint! The chaplet has a 1" oval nickel silver medal of this inspiring and beautiful young woman who is a wonderful role model to today's modern teens. On the back of the medal are her own words "Embraced Pain makes one free." The 1-3/8" silver-toned crucifix and the medal were made in Italy; the chaplet itself was designed and handmade in the USA by me. The ten Hail Mary beads are 8 mm and are genuine Czech glass, faceted and fire-polished, in alternating metallic pink and aurora borealis crystal. The single Our Father bead is a smooth, round, genuine Blue Adventurine gemstone. Beautiful feminine colors!
