Description: Antique wood carving of a fox and hare from the Black Forest. I purchased it from an auction house in England Jan. 2016. I have proof of receipt from it. Here is the listing from that auction: (https://auctions.claydonauctioneers.com/catalogue/lot/2cb257344496961c935e48cd717b0fa6/66f1d963377b47392f5d9cb4665e9104/twoday-auction-of-antiques-collectables-lot-924/) Their description of it:"An unusual late 20thC twin inkwell in the form of a young rabbit and wolf with glass eyes." I'm told by another ebayer that they believe it is a tobacco holder instead of an inkwell due to the size of the piece. The heads open up, the hinges wiggle and have some play in them, but doesn't detract from the sculpture itself. I see it as a fox and hare; the fox being a hunter and the hare is a gardener. Has had a good home over the last 8 years in a temperature-controlled environment. The heads open up and the hinges wiggle and have some play in them, but doesn't detract from the sculpture itself. Measures 17.5" h x 12" w x 7" d I prefer local pickup for this. I really do not want to try shipping it as it is very unique and one-of-a-kind. But will consider shipping if needed. Message me. Thanks.
