These "knobbies" are cut from the base of the plant (beneath where the branches begin forming) where the walls are thicker and the nodes are closer together. They are very strong. They are hollow, except where a node appears. The photos are not stock photos; the pieces you see listed are the exact pieces you will receive. They range in length from approximately 2' - 3'. Combined, they measure approximately 24 linear feet. These range in diameter from approximately 1.5 cm to 2.2 cm. Quality bamboo can be used for many crafts; wind chimes, dollhouses, floral arrangements, handles, etc. Black bamboo is valued for its percussive musical qualities. Bamboo will hold its color well if not exposed to UV rays. It will need to be sealed annually with an exterior sealer if used outside. Without a sealer, it will fade to a grayish color over time when left exposed in the sun.
