Description: Bf109 E-4 (5395) JG51 Engine Part Battle of Britain (CB17) Aircraft was shot down by 501 Squadron whilst in combat over Canterbury at 9:10, aircraft crashed at South Barham Farm, Denton. oberlt E, Kircheis baled out and captured with a broken leg. This is one of a number of items that I am selling from the Martin O’Brian collection that he is downsizing. Martin is well known in aviation circles for over five decades, working with many teams involved in aviation archaeology over the years which include many Battle of Britain crash site investigations. He has also worked with Time Team on their Spitfire recovery and on a number of War Digs with Harry Harris. Martin is a master carpenter by trade and has also worked with Craig Charleston in support of Me109 restoration projects, with constructing precision wooden moulds from drawing specifications for fuselage reproduction.
