Description: BATTISTONI Italy has made the most fastidious men’s shirting and accessories since 1946, sold in its flagship store in via Condotti at the foot of the Spanish Steps in Rome. As the first postwar shirt maker to gain the acceptance of the Roman aristocracy, its renown increased dramatically during the 60s as American actors on locale in Rome (such as Marlon Brando) discovered the best that the Old World had to offer and became steady patrons. BATTISTONI today preserves an authentic exclusivity that surpasses any of the commercial ‘luxury” brands. The company makes its clothing largely to order by appointment in either Rome or Beverly Hills. The brief production of ready to wear shirts occurred sometime around 2010 and was a collaboration with the late, great multibrand store Barneys New York. This classic blue dress shirt in size 15.5/39 is made of the silkiest Italian broadcloth and is designed with traditional Anglo-Italian details: spread collar, French cuffs, button sleeve placket and slight fitting on the back panel.
