Description: Written by Christian Ward. Art by Christian Ward. Cover by Bill Sienkiewicz. VISIONARY CREATOR CHRISTIAN WARD UNLEASHES A COSMIC-HORROR EPIC, FEATURING THE COURT OF OWLS! Buried deep beneath Gotham City there exists another Gotham. This Gotham Below is a living nightmare, populated by twisted mirrors of our Gotham's denizens, fueled by the fear and hatred flowing down from above. For decades, the doorway between the cities has been sealed and heavily guarded by the Court of Owls. But now the door swings wide, and the twisted version of the Dark Knight has escaped...to trap and train a Robin of his own. Batman must form an uneasy alliance with the Court and its deadly allies to stop him--and to hold back the wave of twisted super-villains, nightmarish versions of his own nemeses, each one worse than the last, that's spilling into his streets! Visionary writer-artist Christian Ward unleashes his cosmic-horror take on Batman's world, in a tribute to disturbing Dark Knight classics like Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Gothic! You'll never look at Batman's villains the same way again...you simply won't have the stomach for it! KEY:1st appearance of the Batman BelowWe grade this as NM+ (9.6) as it has some, but not all, the characteristics of the guidelines described in the most current Overstreet Guide to Grading Comics. But it’s your money, so take a close look at the actual images. This item can be described as nearly perfect with only minor visibles that keep it in, “no man’s land” between NM/MT and NM. Item looks, “as if it was just purchased and read once or twice.” There may be subtle bindery or printing defects. No bindery tears. The surface is flat with no surface wear. Inks are bright with high reflectivity and minimal fading. Cover is generally well centered and firmly secured to interior pages. A corner may be minutely blunted, but still almost cut square and sharp. There may be almost imperceptible indentations but there are no creases, bends or color breaks. There may be small, inconspicuous, lightly penciled, stamped, or inked arrival dates in unobtrusive locations. No soiling, staining or other discoloration. The spine is tight and flat with no spine roll or splits. The staples are original, generally centered, with only the slightest discoloration. No staple tears, stress lines or rust migration. Paper is off-white, supple, and fresh. No hint of acidity in the odor of the newsprint. No interior autographs or owner signatures. Centerfold is firmly secured. If there are any interior tears, they are slight. This is a scan of the actual item. Please inspect the scan carefully for condition as you will receive the item pictured.
