Description: Early Bari Wiking (A) Handmade Sandblasted Bent Diamond Shank Tobacco Pipe By Viggo Nielsen of Denmark. Vintage Bari Wiking "A" Handmade Sandblasted Bent Bulldog in Outstanding Overall Smoked Condition. An early offering from the classic Danish pipe maker, Bari. In the beginning Bari tended to make more traditionally shaped Pipes, this being one of those. They would later start shaping Pipes the way most of us are accustomed to seeing, Large and sometimes Giant Freehand pipes, often with different yet similar shaping, of both Briar and Stem. This is definitely more along the lines of a classically shaped bent pipe, although with that familiar Danish flair. Beautiful Ring grain texture and an excellent contrasting Dark Mahogany finish. Chamber is in great smoked condition. The Vulcanite stem is Jet black, and Chatter Free and sports the "BARI" stamping. Stem can accommodate a 6mm filter, however I've included a new reducer, for those that prefer a non filtered pipe. Bari Piber was founded by Viggo Nielsen in Kolding around the turn of 1950/51. Viggo's sons Kai Nielsen and Jrgen Nielsen both grew into their father's business from a very young age and worked there till 1975. Bari had very successfully adapted the new Danish Design that had been started mainly by Stanwell for it's own models. Viggo sold Bari in the late 70s. Clean and Shiny, ready to smoke.
