Description: Baltimore City Policeman, 15, 1920s Vintage Photo, Louis Harrer, Very Rare Click images to enlarge Description You are bidding on an original 1920's Vintage Photograph of a Baltimore City Policeman/Fire Boat, 15, Louis Harrer (1858-1933), Very Rare. Card size: 5" x 7 3/4". To see all of my "Antique Photos" click here. More Info: Louis was born in Baltimore on January 1858 to Gottlieb and Henrietta Harrer. He married Mary Reges in 1879 and had 8 children. I believe he was a Policeman/Fire Boat Lieut. for about 45 years (1880-1925). He died 12 November, 1933 and is buried at Parkwood Cemetery in Baltimore, MD. (see images). Back is blank. Published in January 1847 by Louis Désiré Blanquart-Evrard, it was the first commercial process of producing a photo on a paper base from a negative, previous methods - such as the daguerreotype and the tintype - having been printed on metal. It became the dominant form of photographic positives from 1855 to the start of the 20th century, with a peak in the 1860–90 period. During the mid-19th century, the carte de visite became one of the more popular uses of the albumen method. In the 19th century, E. & H. T.
