"Christo and James represent the Creme of Comic book Dealers - the kind of guys I like to deal with across the counter! And I have!!!" - STERANKO "The Demi-God Must Die! (17-page story) Hercules, Black Widow and Iceman of the Champions are called out to New York by the Avengers only to find themselves attacked by Iron Man. The Golden Avenger easily takes out the Black Widow and Iceman and distracts Hercules by endangering a group of bystanders. Fleeing, Iron Man hopes to get enough ground back to Avengers Mansion, however, Hercules easily catches up to him. Knocking Hercules back, Iron Man reflects back on the events that lead to this moment: He and the Beast were the only ones at Avengers Mansion when they were attacked by Hercules' old foe, Typhon. Hoping to get revenge against Hercules and having his powers boosted by Pluto himself, Typhon would use the Avengers as his tools. Easily overpowering both Iron Man and the Beast, Typhon would hold the Beast hostage and threaten his life if Iron Man does not summon Hercules and destroy him. Iron Man, since his attack on the Champions, has been attempting to lure Hercules closer to Avengers Mansion so that he might defeat Typhon. However, along the way, Iron Man's batteries begin to run low on power. Getting to Avengers Mansion, he attempts one last ditch effort to slow Hercules down by jolting him with live wires pulled out of the Mansion's electrical system, knocking both Iron Man and Hercules out. When Typhon would come out of hiding to gloat he would be attacked by Iceman, Black Widow, and the Beast who would prove only to be nuisances to the Titan. However, their attack only proves to stall time for Hercules to revive and realize what is going on. Realizing that Typhon is not mighty enough to overcome the combined powers of the recovered Avengers and Champions, Pluto summons Typhon back to Hades and he fades from the scene. With the situation clarified the Champions depart from the mansion, however, the experience has Beast wondering if he's really cut out to be a member of the Avengers. NOTE: Corner Box is of the Vision flying."
