He actually wound up being one of the last guys in MLB to wear it since by the time he retired most of the other players who'd been grandfathered in had since retired. Every year the league honors Jackie Robinson by having every player on every team wear #42 which is why I say that in a way this jersey also serves as a Jackie Robinson jersey as well.
