Authentic John Dickinson Artwork Minimalist Bow & Drape 1970s Vintage Table Lamp

Description: This is a authentic not attributed to or in the style of a John Dickinson lamp.I purchased this in Redwood City in 1983 from the original owner who bought it new in the 1970’s from Dickinson.Plaster was Dickinson’s canvas as he shaped every lamp by hand that would take several weeks to finish.Dickinson didn’t make very many of these lamps to begin with and next to a fake the difference is obvious. The bow is fuller in front and thinner in back and the drape has deeper folds with a natural flow. This also has a thin skin like coating he sealed his lamps with that has a hint of silver.This lamp is in excellent condition without any chips or cracks but after 40 years of normal house dust it’s not nearly as white as it once that has some minor smudge marks from handling it over the years.IT NEEDS TO BE PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED as I’m not experimenting on a real Dickinson lamp.It’s 31” to the top of the finial that needs a shade.It originally had a 14” cylindrical shade that’s been long gone.If you have any doubt about the authenticity of this lamp don’t buy it.I’m charging a flat price of $45 to properly pack this with styrofoam and ship it fully insured with delivery confirmation anywhere in the continental United States.No international shipping.
