Description: Presented for this BUY IT NOW auction is this Authentic Antique 1882-1883 Victorian Era 12 Month Wooden with Brass trim working Perpetual Calendar. This piece is definetly not a reproduction ! All the pieces are there ! Even the original glass cover plate for the months of the year is intact ! Has excellent bones ! Complete ! It has the original paper copy for the directions on the back ! It's difficult to read due to wear & time ! I say it's a working calendar because the trim frame & brads show that these pieces have been removed many times to set up the correct year month cards & day of the week number's on the cubed wooden sticks ! It's remarkable after all these years ! I have cleaned up the brass PATD Date & Day of the Week plate to see the HOOLE MFG CO embossed stamp ! This piece was made by the HOOLE MFG CO 53 GI JONES ST NY Brooklyn ! (HOOLE Machine & Engraving Works) The directions on the back are difficult to read "Patantee 1882-1883 CALENDAR 1st Day of every week" etc ?This seems to be a Gothic style frame Measures 8" X 2" base & 10" H X 6" W This is a tabletop piece but does have the original wall hanging ring on the back top !
