My late father worked for this model shop in Willow Grove, PA during the 1960's that made all sorts of items from toys to products that are now common in today's homes. This place known as H.M.S. were the initials of the owners of this place. They were involved in the Solarex sunglasses by Bachmann Industries, the Motorific cars and boats, the T-Jet, A-Jet slot cars, the 4 Zeroid Robots in 1967, and the introduction of the N scale Minitrix train line. My Dad worked in the home division that worked on the flat glass cooking ranges that you see today. There were company drawings and literature on this subject back then. Solving the dilemma of how this worked only came after the invention of the micro-processer. Along with the famous Monster models there were the regular car, airplane and ship models of all types. I have here one of the large wooden pattern mockups that were made from a drawing and then outsourced (maybe?) to a skilled pattern shop to build. The flat top area was predrilled to fit the exact positions of the machine hull top side face down, where the unit will become subject to reproduce copies of itself using a vacuum form process, to which, a resin copy is made. That copy is sent to the designers for approval and then sent to another department for finishing work. All other parts are made from molds using the same process and final assembly and packaging done at the Aurora factory in upstate New York. I have included pictures of the resin (very solid but has 2 cracks you can see) and the production hull that appears in the kit. This thing is massive about 3 feet long and weighs about 9 pounds. It's been in the family possession since 1970. I have 2 more pattern pieces to offer soon. If you want the resin, which has a crack but complete, you will have to come in person to pickup. The buyer will receive the wood pattern by express 2 day mail with full insurance and tracking so it does not get lost. Ask me any questions you may have. I described this as best I could. My Dad's been deceased 3 years and I could only recount what I was told. This is a BIN sale. Someone wrote a book about this company years ago and there are people out there who are interested in artifacts on this subject.
