Description: This unique painting by the Italian/America artist August Mosca features a beautiful combination of botanical and figure elements. While it is not unusual to find human figures among plants in Mosca's paintings, this particular painting is partly a painting of a portrait painting by a plant still life. The greenery is lush with numerous shades of green. The boy appears seated by a window, at first. August Mosco was quite prolific as an artist and his work has appeared in many expositions, museums and collections. The painting is signed and dated 1977 in the upper right. The frame is attractive with gold finish in mostly matte but there are reflective wing-like decorative elements on the corners. The frame is probably a few decades older than the painting. The canvas size is 18 1/4 in x 22 1/4 in. The total size 23 3/4 in x 27 3/4".
