Pitching for the Senators was Hall of Famer Walter Johnson, looking for the 58-66 Senators to get a much-needed win. The Senators started out hot, with a run scored in the first inning. However, there lead would quickly diminish. In the second inning, with Babe Ruth at bat, he hit a bomb of a homer against Walter Johnson that went far in the right side of the stadium. This would be Babe Ruth’s 189th Home Run of his career. This is the actual ball that Babe Ruth hit the homer against Walter Johnson. In fountain pen, there is writing on the baseball that read, “Babe Ruth knocked this ball over the right field fence 08/29/1922”. There is also a typed document accompanying the baseball reading, "Babe Ruth Signature Ball. Signed, Babe Ruth knocked this ball over the right field fence August 29th, 1922. The Babe’s only hit of the day, a solo home run, in a 3-1 winning effort at home against Washington”. This baseball was a family heirloom and has never been up for sale until now.
