Description: DescriptionAttributed to Phillipe H. Mourey (France 1840-1910) late 19th century gilt metal mantle clock. Depicts a man in 18th century costume holding a French horn in one hand and a long rifle in the other. He stands victorious over the boar at his feet. Crisply cast highly decorative details. Beveled front and back glass, the dial is enameled metal with Roman numbers. Time and strike movement. The case is in beautiful condition and the gilding has excellent retention. We had the clock running for approx. 2 hours, (see video) and then it would run intermittently. Mentioned for accuracy, the glass on the back of the clock has a small chip the beveled glass around the 2:00 position, shown last photo.
