Description: AS-IS Apple Wallstreet G3 Wall Street M4753 Macintosh PowerBook VST SuperDisk Sold as-is for parts or repair, no returns/refunds. This particular Wallstreet apparently has a VST SuperDisk floppy drive (From web: "VST Superdisk Drive Wallstreet - Powerbook Medic powerbookmedic. This drive is hot swappable.") and I can't eject my floppy disk (a small app for the Synclavier), the red disk you see in it, as it won't boot, even though it powers and has the fan or hard drive sound. These VST SuperDisk floppy drive are sold for $100 all by themselves (recent history $40-$90), so this may be almost as valuable as the not working G3 Wallstreet iteself. This is one of the PowerBooks I've needed to sell for 10+ years. This means NOTHING now, as it is sold as-is for parts or repair, no returns/refunds, but my notes on this one indicate that this was one of my NED Synclavier service call computers (they never lasted, problem is they won't start after a while, and I have never opened one of these up to check or try to fix) and it was used a few times 2010-2013, and as I recall it sometimes wouldn't turn on, which I assumed would be the state it would be in testing it for this listing, but I got a big surprise when powering it up with the last of the Wallstreet G3 power supplies I still have (not included, but listed separately here on eBay), it powered up, sort of, I could hear fans and/or a hard drive spinning up and the green LED was on the front, but no chime sound and no image on the LCD, and this was BEFORE pressing the power button, and doing so didn't change anything, it was still powered on with a blacked out screen and didn't turn off when pressed, either. This one had a 1) perfect LCD and 2) no scratches on the plastic screen at all. Still has no scratches on the LCD whatsoever, but I can't estimate if the actual LCD unit would still be working. A lot of scratches on the aluminum parts as you can see (and I'd thought these were all plastic). My little video here shows me connecting one of the two Wallstreet G3 power supplies I still have (not included, but listed separately here on eBay) and it shows the power on and blacked out screen before pressing the power button, and it still doesn't start properly boot up with a Mac screen image. No parts were taken out of it, so whatever RAM, HDD, etc. it ever had is still there. I was just using it to run a small terminal emulator app out of the mini-DIN serial port (this is why I needed the Wallstreet, the newest one that still had that, all the newer ones are USB that won't work for my application). There is the optical drive (CD or DVD, I don't know) on one side, and the VST SuperDisk floppy drive on the other side. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The item is as described in the title and as shown in the photos. ALL of my photos are the actual items, always. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the 2nd PowerBook I've listed here (both G3 Wallstreet) in the selloff of my PowerBook inventory and collection, as far as I can see there are three more PowerBooks to be listed (those are the older gray ones, two squarish and one the more sloped edge type that may be color), plus a decent sized box of parts, including a logic board that I believe was tested good and marked as such when removed from a cracked/dead LCD Powerbook...........20+ years ago. Actually maybe a 4th one to be listed, another Wallstreet, but it's in my Synclavier road service case I don't have easy access to right now, will pull it next time I have it out. 19 out of 20 of my service calls end up being L.A. or San Francisco and I find it easier to just take the most needed items in a couple of file boxes hand carried in my own car, and when doing service calls overseas, the cost of baggage for the two special flight cases is as much as for the items inside, so I usually just put them in my own soft luggage to carry for free and increase the per diem that I don't spend and just keep. This is part of why I have so many flight cases for sale, I've had a special flight case and a special workstation case for everything under the sun (Synclavier Macintosh IIfx/19" CRT, PC/17" CRT, Pro Tools, Spectral Synthesis DAW, Fairlight MFX3+, WaveFrame AudioFrame 1000, etc.) but almost never take them out, and if I do, it's just more expedient to grab another loose system or computer and take that one to the rental/service project. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shipping: This will be safely packed for shipment.
