SEVERAL BROMELIADS ARE OFFERED ON THE INTERNET AND MOST OF THEM HAVE RUBBER LEAVES. THEIR FLOWERS ARE THE SAME MATERIAL. YES, IT HAS A SHINY LOOK. COMPARE IT TO THE REAL PLANT THAT HAS A WAXY COATING ON THE FLOWER PART WHICH MAKES IT SHINNY. I GROW THESE HERE IN FLORIDA.I HAVE SEARCHED ALL OVER FOR GOOD QUALITY BROMELIADS.
