Description: GOOD to VERY GOOD CONDITION This sale is for a vintage hardback edition entitled “The Big Six,” by Arthur Ransome, author of “Swallows & Amazons” and “Coot Club” with 23 illustrations by the author, including a frontispiece, and maps, including endpaper maps of the Norfolk Broads Northern Rivers (Navigable Waters). It was published by Jonathan Cape Ltd., of London, in September, 1943 and is the fifth impression of the November, 1940 FIRST EDITION. Set in the Norfolk Broads, The Big Six is the sequel to Coot Club in the Swallows and Amazons series of sailing adventures for children. The book measures 8 inches x 5.75 inches and has 400 pages (including illustrations). The book is in good, neat condition for its age, with minor wear/bumps to the original cloth hardback cover, with a previous owner’s signature/address at the front and no other ink or pencil markings in the book. The binding is good with no loose or missing pages. There is no dust-jacket. A wonderful, illustrated vintage edition.
