I researched & found this info: Paul de Longpré Born 1855-1911 French painter, He was born in Lyons, France, being self-taught. He successfully painted in Paris for his fans. By 21 he first exhibited his work. He moved in 1890 to New York and in 1896 held an exhibition of flower pieces which secured him instant recognition. Then in 1899 moved to California & couple yrs later custom built his home in Hollywood, known for its magnificent flower gardens. De Longpré painted mainly in the United States.
