Description: Astarte 1931 by Royal Photographic Society Fellow and master photographer Gilbert Newton Futcher 1868-1942.From a vintage copy of Photograms of the Year 1931. Born in Newport in the Isle of Wight in 1868 GN Futcher was a professional portrait photographer at 28 North St, Chichester. After his marriage in 1902 he moved to Sale in Cheshire and then Southsea in the 1930's. During this period he was exhibiting regularly at the Royal Photographic Society eventually becoming a fellow of the RPS. In 1939 when he was living in Christchurch, Dorset he is described as a Master Photographer. He died in Haslemere, Surrey in 1942. Delivered in an acid free archival sleeve and hard backed envelope.
