Description: You get the exact one shown here: #CC-1491E-S22 / 11-17-2024 MICA CRYSTAL Please see VIDEO & all 21 photos (be sure to scroll to see all of them). This is a QUARTZ CRYSTAL WITH CHLORITE PHANTOM that is mounted in a standard 1 1/4" perky box. This is from the collection of a discriminating Middle-Georgia collector with an eye for aesthetics and quality. These choice specimens now bear Dixie Euhedrals labels. This particular specimen was purchased 15 years ago. QUARTZ CRYSTAL WITH TAN CHLORITE PHANTOM from THE LONESOME DOVE MINE, PERRY COUNTY, ARKANSAS.THIS WAS ACQUIRED IN 2009 from YOURS TRULY - I SOLD IT IN 2009 AND ENDED UP WITH IT BACK 12 YEARS LATER. The original cost in 2009 was $15. FIVE SPECIMENS WERE PURCHASED TO GET THIS PER-PIECE PRICE. I acquired the mine from Ray McGrew and began mining in 2007. I was talking to Jimmy Coleman around that time (who lived in nearby Jessieville) and he mentioned these peculiar phantoms from the mine. He mentioned that he had bought everyone that he could get from Ray/Judy and had sold them all. These all have the same phantom shape even though occurring at different areas of the mine. These all were tan-colored chlorite except for a rare few that had green color. Most of the chlorite at the mine was green, except in these odd phantoms that cover two faces only. When observed with a loupe the inclusion has the worm-like structure that chlorite has. Many people may not know that chlorite can be white, tan, red, green and variations (color gradiants) of these colors. It is interesting to note that Ray had bought the mine from its previous owner because the fellow's son had killed someone and he needed the money to pay for the victim's funeral. Arkansas can be a rough place in the mining areas.Approximate size of crystal specimen: 5/8" wide X 1/2" deep X 1 1/4" tall or in metric: 1.6 X 1.2 X 3.2 CM. The metric dimensions are more precise. Do you like perky box mounted specimens?? I have 100's of different specimens for sale and many 100's waiting to be listed. Be sure to check my other items and check back often to see what all is new! Oh, I almost forgot - I also sell silver coins. Some old, some new, some that are toned blue. I do combine shipping so see what else you might like. This is shown with enlarged images so please note:This is shown with large high-resolution images. The photos show the specimen as if you were examining it with a magnifying glass. Every good detail, and every bad detail, is shown in a blaze of glory or shame as the case may be.Having said that, since the photos are highly enlarged you may see features or blemishes that will not be detectable or will not be as prominent to the naked eye. Please note the size and be advised that the images appear larger than life on your screen. To be clear: this is shown with extreme magnification. To put it another way, (as if that wasn't clear enough?) these are large pictures of a small crystal. This specimen is priced commensurate with its rarity, locality and quality. I can't take less for it so please don't ask. I do have minerals for every budget so be sure to check out my other items.B.O.L.O ALERT - Be On the Look Out: I've recently acquired in excess of 1040 perky box specimens which have been carefully curated over a span of 42 years. The quality ranges from high to extremely high. Despite the sensory overload that oft accompanies high quality minerals, some will be quite affordable. The easiest way to see them is to visit my store and click the store category "PERKY BOXES". You will probably want to add me as a favorite seller and tick the box to receive a view of recently added minerals. I took some time off from listing but I'm back at it for a while and will probably be adding more specimens. So do check back and add me as a favorite and subscribe to my newsletter. Don't worry, you won't get weekly or even monthly emails from me as I only sporadically send them out a few times a year when I've added new items. The shipping scheme is as follows:Domestic USA Shipping: The first specimen costs $5.20 to ship and includes a sturdy box.
