Description: Not your average Bowl!! Beautifully hand blown amber Sommerso Bullicante Murano glass bowl in an incredible organic design with gold leaf / dust. Archimede Seguso, 1950-1960s. Amber glass summerged into clear glass with hundreds of controlled inner air bubbles. The gold leaf / dust that covers throughout all the interior surfaces highlights its beauty. Dimensions: Approx.: 7" Diam. x 3" H. Approx. Weight: 3.5 lbs. Condition: very good. The "Sommerso Bullicante" technique: “Sommerso” means “submerged” in Italian, creating several layers of glass in this one bowl, giving the viewer submerged colors throughout. "Bullicante" means "full of bubbles" in Italian. Here, the artist overlayed many layers of air bubbles in a grid pattern within the walls of the bowl. Archimede Seguso was a master Italian glass artisan, born in Murano, Italy. I do my best to accurately describe items, but I am not an expert and do not guarantee descriptions.
