If you see such a listing, it is not mine. This operating system is one of many pieces of older software that Apple previously released to the public as a free download. However, many collectors have trouble getting this software onto media that can be used by their vintage Mac, due to differences in file systems & physical connectivity that exist between these machines and modern computers. I offer these disks as a solution to that problem. Please note that while this software can be obtained by the public free of charge, it is still the intellectual property of Apple Computer, Inc, and I claim no rights to it. What you are purchasing in this listing is only the disks themselves, and my service of transferring the software onto those disks. These 800k disks are formatted and written using a real vintage Mac, and are guaranteed to work properly as long as your machine's floppy drive is in good repair (if you have not personally serviced/regreased it, you need to do so before using these disks in order to prevent damage). Don't take a chance with untested decades-old disks, or similar ones offered by others who create them using emulation software and non-Apple floppy drives. Please note that these disks are recycled, and the color of the ones you receive may vary. All will be appropriately and attractively labeled like what is pictured. The operating system on these disks can be used/installed on the below vintage Mac computers, as long as at least 2MB of RAM is installed. System 7 also works best on machines that have internal or external hard drives. (If you have a floppy-only Mac, or one with <2MB of RAM, you should use System 6.0.8 instead - you can find those disks in my other listings) Plus Macintosh IIIIx/IIcx/IIci/IIfx/IIsi * SESE FDHD * SE/30 * Portable * Classic * LC * LC II *Models marked with * are equipped with 1.4MB floppy drives. While these 800k disks will work fine in 1.4MB drives, the 1.4MB version of this software is available in my other listings - and requires fewer disks/swaps during installation.
