After the church schism of 1666 and after the death of the last priests ordained before the schism, in the absence of clergy, the Old Believers-bespopovtsy of the Pomeranian consent began to conduct services with the help of the elected laity. For this purpose, phrases originally spoken by priests were removed from the spoken texts. A distinctive feature of the icon-case crosses of the Bespopovites is the image at the top of the composition of the Savior Not Made by Hands on the board (instead of God the Father of Hosts), as well as the absence of the dove-Holy Spirit flying over the Cross. In the center of the composition is the crucified Savior. Two angels are visible from above, hovering over the Savior, holding out payments to him. The icon cross in question is equipped with a rectangular pommel (with the Savior Not Made by Hands), the pommel has a reverse thickening without a through hole. The reverse side of the product is smooth, recessed; there is a high thin border along the entire contour of the reverse side. The icon cross of the Old Believers-Bespopovtsy was assigned the fifth category of rarity (collector's item). The condition of the artifact is very good: the geometry of the object is not damaged; the relief is in excellent preservation; the metal of the front side is bright with darkening, without pockets of corrosion; The pommel is in excellent condition.
